Quang Binh border guards on Monday said they had rescued a Chinese man who was found and rescued by a Vietnamese fishing boat off the northern coast of Vietnam, local media reported.
The 40-year-old man from China's Fujian province was admitted to a medical station at Gianh Port.
He has fully recovered and is about to be transferred to Chinese authorities.
The man said he boarded a tourist cruise in Shanghai on January 1 to visit Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand.
On January 4, he felled off the deck after drinking with his friends.
It was late on the same day that the fishing boat of Nguyen Van Hau found him floating some 94 nautical miles off Quang Binh Province’s La Island.
