Vietnamese firms to use Warner Bros. images

A number of Vietnamese firms including a children book publisher and fashion brands have gained the rights to use Tom and Jerry, Batman, and Superman images on their products starting this year.

The first partners of Warner Bros Consumer Products are Kim Dong Publishing House, children's fashion brand Oiwai, ice-cream brand Monte Rosa, children's shampoo brand Witty Kids, and footwear brand Bitis's, which will start using the figures this summer, Saigon Tiep Thi said Friday.

Pacific Licensing Studio, a brand management and consumer products licensing agency based in Singapore, will represent Warner Bros in granting the use rights to the Vietnamese firms.

Its representative Angie Nguyen said Warner Bros Consumer Products' leading brands include Looney Tunes, Tom & Jerry, Harry Potter, Batman, Superman, and Scooby-Doo. She said the brands target clothing, toy, office tool, gift, food and personal kit products.

Angie said the brands have been used by around 3,700 businesses worldwide and Warner Bros wants to expand its brand development.
