The ashes of a Vietnamese Dutch woman and her two children who all perished in the MH17 disaster arrived home Thursday.
The urns containing the ashes of Nguyen Ngoc Minh, 37, her daughter Dang Minh Chau, 17, and son Dang Quoc Duy, 13, were flown aboard a Malaysian Airlines jet coded MH752 which landed at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi at 12:10 p.m.
After due procedure was made, they were handed over to the victims’ family.
The ashes will be brought to a funeral center on Phung Hung Street in Hanoi for an official funeral next Monday.
Minh and her children were all born in Vietnam but later acquired Dutch citizenship.
They were returning to Hanoi from the Netherlands for their summer holiday when the Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 was shot down over the Ukraine on July 17, killing all 298 people on board.
On October 9, Dutch authorities announced they had identified the three Vietnamese Dutch victims.
The year before their fateful flight, Dang Quoc Thang, Minh’s husband, was killed in a train accident in the Netherlands.
