Vietnamese businessman honored by Japanese goverment

A Vietnamese businessman has been awarded the Japanese government’s Order of the Rising Sun for his great contributions to the mutual ties between the two countries over the past 40 years.
The order was presented to Nguyen Tri Dung, 67, by Japanese Consul General Nakajima Satoshi at a ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday.
Dung is the second Vietnamese to receive the honor after economist Nguyen Xuan Oanh, a former advisor to Vietnam's prime minister, in 1997
Being the vice chairman of the Japan-Vietnam Partnership Club since 2003, Dung has been assumed the "Hyogo Goodwill Ambassador" title since 2007 and established the Japan Vietnam Network that links activities to promote cooperation and exchanges of technology transfer between two countries.
He is a commissioner of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, director of Minh Tran Co. and chairman of the management board of Tri Dung Business School.
Speaking at the event, Dung expressed his gratitude to both the Japanese and Vietnamese governments’ recognition, as well as confirming his aims to promote the mutual relation of two countries by boosting economic activities, and cultural exchanges.
