Two Vietnamese fishing boats were caught in protected Australian waters last weekend with a large quantity of sea cucumbers, and their 28 crew members are being questioned.
ABC said the boats were caught in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park after being initially spotted from the air.
The crew members were caught with a large amount of diving gear and hundreds of kilograms of what is suspected to be illegally caught sea cucumbers, ABC reported.
The Great Barrier Reef is the world’s largest coral reef system with more than 2,900 reefs, and is considered one of the world’s natural wonders.
