A 23-year-old woman was seriously injured in Ho Chi Minh City Tuesday when granite slabs weighing several tons fell on her from a tricycle, VnExpress reported.
Nguyen Ba Minh Vy was riding beside the motorized tricycle driven by Pham Dinh Dao, 55, in District 12 when the stones, which were over two meters long and nearly a meter wide, fell on her and buried her.
She was rushed to a hospital with multiple injuries, while a crane had to be brought to move the granite and salvage the vehicles.
Dao, who was injured slightly, said he was riding up Cho Cau 2 Bridge when his engine broke down. He had been hired to transport the granite.
The police are investigating.
