Police in central Vietnam are seeking to charge a woman for allegedly stomping and kicking her husband in his head, causing his death last week.
Le Thi Thuy is facing charges of murder, police said on Sunday. She has not been taken into custody because she is raising her baby.
Thuy, 41, told others early on Thursday that her husband Vo Hong Son had passed away after an "unexpected stroke."
However, when preparing for his funeral, some relatives discovered suspicious bruise marks on his face and neck.
The case was then reported to local investigators, who later found that the husband suffered a brain hemorrhage. His intestines were also damaged.
Thuy later admitted to attacking her husband the previous day, after suspecting that Son had taken their money to buy some wine.
After he fell down, she repeatedly kicked and stomped him in his head and belly.
She then left her home to work on the field.
In the evening, Son told his wife that he was in pain and passed away minutes after that.
