A commune Party secretary found to be having an affair with a married woman has been dismissed, authorities in the southern Vietnamese province of Binh Phuoc said Wednesday.
Nguyen Quang Sinh, 49, was also sacked as chairman of the commune People's Council --the legislature in Vietnam -- news website VnExpress reported.
Bu Gia Map District authorities handed down the punishment after an investigation confirmed accusations by Bui Thanh Phu, 52, the husband of Sinh's paramour, known only as B.T.T.
Phu had caught Sinh and T. at a local guest house on May 3 after she had told him she was going to see a doctor.
Investigations found that the affair began in 2004. The woman is the head of a village women's association.
