The chairman of Hoa Phat Group Joint-Stock Co., Vietnam's largest-listed steel producer, will become the second private plane owner in the country upon receipt of his US$4.9 million aircraft this month.
The six-seat EC 135P2i helicopter will be used for making business trips in Vietnam, Chairman Tran Dinh Long was quoted by Thoi Bao Kinh Te Saigon news website as saying Wednesday.
Long will be the second person in Vietnam to own a private plane. Vietnam's richest man, Doan Nguyen Duc, who runs Hoang Anh Gia Lai Joint-Stock Co., owns a Beechcraft King Air 350 estimated to cost $5.1 million.
Vietnam allows individuals to own and use private aircarft in the country as long as they have met aviation safety requirements and have personal pilots.
