Vietnam will use lethal injection instead of a firing squad for death sentences starting November this year, according to a resolution signed by the Prime Minister.

Each injection will include three kinds of poison: Sodium thiopental for aenesthetizing, Pancuronium bromide for paralyzing the mental system and muscles, and Potassium chloride to stop the heart.

The Health Ministry will provide the poisons under requests by the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of National Defense, and the delivery of the chemicals will be stated in documents, which will be sealed and stored carefully.

According to the resolution, family or legal representative of the executed person can receive the body for burial but they have to pay for the transport of the body and must guarantee public order.

City and provincial governments will grant land for the burial or assign a burial place in cases where the family doesn't want to get involved.
