Authorities in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong have approved construction of a multimillion-dollar horse racing track that is expected to be the largest in Vietnam to spur tourism.
The track is estimated to cost more than VND1 trillion (US$47 million) and cover an area of 63.63 hectares in Da Huoai District's Da Oai Commune.
It will also have a polo club and other recreational facilities to cater to both local and foreign tourists.
Thien Ma-Madagui Horse Racing Joint Stock Company, the track developer, said work would start soon and finish late next year.
The Lam Dong government has told the investor to ensure the environment and landscapes are safeguarded, especially the natural lake and river systems in the area.
