Ho Chi Minh City police are searching for a man suspected of being a broker for the high-priced prostitution ring involving celebrities that made headlines nationwide last June.

Luong Quoc Huy, 26, has been hiding out since that time, after two prostitutes who used his brokering services to get clients were arrested in a police raid.

One of the women was a student. Huy charged prostitutes 30 percent of the US$1,000  fee they charged clients.

City police have discovered that Huy was also involved in the prostitution ring run by Vo Thi My Xuan, winner of the 2009 South Mekong Beauty Pageant, actress Thien Kim, and three others from the local showbiz scene.

The city police are asking anyone with information about Huy to call them at: 083 864 0548.

In raids of two hotels in District 1 on June 2 last year, police caught four young women offering sex for $2,500 each to four property investors, presenting themselves as employees of Xuan and Kim.

The women were Jenny Phuong, a model who was about to compete in the 2012 South Mekong Beauty Pageant; Ngoc Thuy, a TV actress; Le Thi Yen Duy, winner of a beauty contest in the southern province of Ben Tre; and a college student only identified as L.T.H.D.
