Police in the central province of Thanh Hoa said Tuesday that they have sent 19.4 kilograms of undocumented jewelry confiscated earlier from a car to be tested  on suspicion that they were made from gold.

According to police, they found the jewelry when searching the car driven by Do Van Truong, 45, on Sunday, adding that they were kept in sacks.

Truong as well as three other passengers in the car failed to present documents pertaining to the jewlery's origins.

Police said they pulled over Truong, who was then on his way from Hanoi to Thanh Hoa, for violating traffic laws.

The case is being investigated further.
