The Hanoi police arrested four people after busting a gang that forged credit cards and bought goods worth hundreds of millions of dong with them.
The ring was reportedly led by Dinh Van Long, 37, and began operating early last month.
Long told the police that he learned how to forge credit cards from Internet forums of hackers and bought production equipment in the northern province of Lang Son.
The police said they stole information from genuine credit card holders to make the fakes, but provided no further details.
The gang used the fake cards to buy luxury mobile phones and tablets and pay taxi fares, they said Saturday.
The case is being investigated further.
