The Association of Vietnamese High-Quality Goods Producers said it has discovered a local company using a fake version of its logo and identified another company which produced it.

It has asked local police to look into the illegal service allegedly provided by Phuong Nguyen Company in Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City, Saigon Tiep Thi reported Monday.

Earlier, the association had noticed a business, identified only as D. A., which was never certified by the association, using its logo on advertisements for coconut candy products, and on the products themselves.

It said it learned that Phuong Nguyen representative Nguyen Thi Kim Thoa had signed a contract within the last year to make the logo for the company, which is based in the southern province of Ben Tre.

Thoa said in a Tien Phong report she has provided the service for many businesses and this is the first instance in which she has been caught.

The association said it would urge local authorities to check for other unauthorized usage of the logo nationwide, and will create an online portal for consumers to report any such activity.

"Vietnamese High-Quality Goods" is a title given every year to products based on consumers' votes.
