Police in Vietnam on Wednesday arrested three Lao nationals suspected of smuggling 75 kg of heroin near the country’s border with China.
The suspects, identified by the police as Ho Lec, 23, Nha Ly Von, 30, and Ho Ly Gie, 46, hid the drug in secret compartments in their car.
They were arrested in Lao Cai Town, northern Vietnam, where they had planned to meet Chinese customers, the police said.
The suspects had brought the heroin from Laos via a trans-national road into central Vietnam and then headed north to Lao Cai, according to the police.
Investigation is going on.
