A Vietnam Airlines flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Moscow made an unscheduled landing in Uzbekistan on October 20 after a Russian passenger vomited blood and was unable to move his limbs.

Flight VND191 had to land at Taskent Airport and the passenger, Monakhov Dmitri, 55, was rushed to the hospital by the airport medical staff, VnExpress reported.

The flight attendants had asked for help from other passengers but none was able to give medical assistance to Dmitri, the news website reported.

The airplane was refilled at the airport and later arrived at the Domodedovo Airport in Russia on 9:38 p.m. local time, four hours later than previously planned.

The subsequent flight from Domodedovo to Tan Son Nhat International Airport was three and a half hours late as a result.

In related news, airport authorities in Da Nang found out Monday that another Vietnam Airlines flight had lost a wheel after landing at the central city airport.

The crew has struggled for a while before landing successfully, but they were not aware of the wheel loss until an airport employee found out, Motthegioi (motthegioi.vn) news website reported, citing a Vietnam Airlines source.
