Vietnam man charged by US in $200 million credit card theft

A man in Vietnam who is a leader of an international data theft ring was accused in New Jersey of causing $200 million in fraudulent charges to credit cards, US Attorney Paul Fishman said in a statement.

Duy Hai Truong, 23, of Ho Chi Minh City, was charged with conspiracy to commit bank fraud. Prosecutors said the scheme involved stealing personal information related to more than 1.1 million credit cards and reselling it to criminal customers worldwide.
