Vietnam hub to close key downtown street as work on metro line underway

The red strip is the section of Le Loi Street which will be banned for traffic from July 22 


The Ho Chi Minh City transport department will close a section of Le Loi Street in District 1 to vehicle traffic starting at 7 a.m. on July 22 to clear the way for a new metro station.
The construction site extends from Pasteur to Dong Khoi streets and will be closed to traffic as work begins on the first underground station of the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro system, which will run for 19.7 km from Ben Thanh Market to Suoi Tien Park in District 9, news website Thoi Bao Kinh Te Saigon (Saigon Times) reported.
The department called on city dwellers and companies to prepare alternative plans for businesses in the area during construction.
Motorists who pass the site will be required to slow down and follow traffic lights and instructions from traffic wardens.

1. For those traveling from West to East (from District 5, 6, 10, 11...)
-Route 1: Le Loi – Pasteur – Ly Tu Trong – Dong Khoi – Lam Son Square – Hai Ba Trung
-Route 2: Quach Thi Trang Roundabout – Huynh Thuc Khang – Mac Thi Buoi – Hai Ba Trung
-Route 3: Quach Thi Trang Roundabout – Ham Nghi – Ho Tung Mau – Vo Van Kiet – Ton Duc Thang
 
2.For those traveling from East to West (from Thu Duc, Binh Thanh, Phu Nhuan...)
-Route 1: Hai Ba Trung – Me Linh Square – Ton Duc Thang – Ham Nghi – Pasteur – Le Loi
-Route 2: Le Thanh Ton – Nam Ky Khoi Nghia – Le Loi
-Route 3: Hai Ba Trung – Nguyen Du – Nam Ky Khoi Nghia – Le Loi
