The two Chinese nationals rescued from their drifting boat by Vietnamese fishermen on February 11 have returned home, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said.
Their boat began drifting due to the breakdown of one of its generators.
According to the ministry, the Chinese boatmen left Vietnam on Sunday, after having their vessel repaired in Ha Long Bay, in the northern province of Quang Ninh.
In acknowledgment of the goodwill, the Chinese Embassy in Hanoi has expressed its gratitude to Vietnam, the ministry and other agencies for their role in aiding the victims, the ministry said.
