A confectionery company in Ho Chi Minh City has been fined more than US$10,500 Friday for environmental violations.

Pham Nguyen Food and Confectionary Company in the city's Tan Binh District has been found violating several environmental protection regulations, according to environmental criminal police at the Ministry of Public Security.

The company failed to quarantine dangerous waste and illegally allowed its wastewater to flow directly into the local environment, police said.
