Vietnam boy fined for riding motorbike with 1 leg

The law has caught up with the 18-year-old Hanoi boy whose feat of riding his motorbike with one leg with his girlfriend riding pillion was posted online.

The police tracked down Nguyen Van Truong from his license plate and fined him nearly VND7 million (US$324) for not wearing a helmet and careless driving, Nguyen Nhu Thu, deputy chief of the Dan Phuong District police, said Tuesday.

His friend Nguyen Huu The, 16, who was riding with the person shooting the clip behind him, was fined VND220,000 ($10.18) for driving without a license.

The brief clip, posted on the Internet on September 25, shows Truong with his girlfriend on a street in Dan Phuong District, riding his motorbike with just a leg and a grin.
