Vietnam on Saturday officially opened its first pilot training school in the central province of Khanh Hoa, after the first 23 students graduated early this month.
The Pilot Training Center at Cam Ranh is part of a project that plans to upgrade Vietnam aviation training to international levels by 2020, the radio Voice of Vietnam reported.
It is funded by French official development assistance and receives technological support from the French ESMA Aviation Academy.
The first course started in June and ended on September 7.
At present, carriers in the country are flown mostly by foreigners and some Vietnamese trained abroad.
