A South Korean man has been arrested allegedly for using stolen credit card data from the US to go shopping in the Central Highlands resort town Da Lat.
Police in Lam Dong Province said they arrested Hwang Inchan, 41, following an alert that the card safety warning system of local bank BIDV sent to its office on December 5.
The arrest was made soon after two Korean men paid VND10.2 million (around US$500) with a credit card at a phone shop.
BIDV, which provides the credit card payment service at the shop, said the Koreans had used a fraudulent card linked to the account of a cardholder in the United States.
Hwang has admitted to the card fraud.
Police are looking for the other suspect, who has been identified as Kim Sun Sig, 43.
