Imagine you board a plane destined for Ho Chi Minh City, only to find yourself at an airport in Hanoi an hour later?
That almost happened to 59 passengers in Cam Ranh Airport, central Vietnam, on Wednesday night. The mistake was found just when the passengers were in the jet bridge preparing to board a VietjetAir plane.
Phan Le Hoan, Managing Director of Cam Ranh Airport, blamed the mistake on "poor communication" among service staff.
He said VietjetAir had replaced the aircraft originally planned for this flight with another aircraft. Due to miscommunication, airport staff continued to guide passengers to the first plane, while their luggages were sent to the right plane.
The incident caused a 15-minute delay to the flight to Ho Chi Minh City.
Staff involved in the incident had been suspended and ordered to report on the incident.
