More than 100 Vietnam Airlines passengers sat on a runway for two hours this weekend, while the national carrier rearranged luggage.
The Nha Trang-Hanoi flight coded VN1560 was scheduled to take off at 8:55 p.m. from Cam Ranh International Airport on Saturday.
But after all the 115 passengers had settled into their seats, the carrier’s ground services staff informed the crew that they needed more time to rearrange and check luggage and cargo.
The crew asked the passengers to remain seated and wait until the ground services staff finished their job.
It wasn't until 10:30 p.m. that the plane took off.
Vietnam Airlines issued a release saying that it regretted the incident and will strictly revise its procedures to avoid similar incidents in the future.
