A Vietnam Airlines aircraft on Friday was forced to make a temporary landing at the airport of Thua Thien-Hue Province as another Air Mekong aircraft blocked the runway at its original destination - the Da Nang Airport.
At around 12:30 p.m., the Air Mekong plane, which was on the way from Buon Ma Thuot to Hanoi, made an emergency landing at the Da Nang Airport after the captain received a warning signal about its brake system, according to VnExpress.
As the plane blocked the runway, the Vietnam Airlines plane carrying more than 180 passengers from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang could not reach its destination.
It headed towards the Phu Bai Airport in Thua Thien-Hue Province and landed there for refuelling.
The Da Nang Airport runway was cleared at 1:43 p.m., officials said.
