National carrier Vietnam Airlines Monday said a passenger on its flight from Moscow to Ho Chi Minh City was injured in the suicide bombing that killed at least 35 at an airport in Russia that day.

The Russian passenger only suffered mild injuries to his leg, and other passengers were safe, VnExpress quoted the airline's representative Le Hoang Dung as saying.

Dung said that the incident at the Domodedovo International Airport delayed the flight, affecting 105 passengers. The flight was expected to arrive at Vietnam at 9.30 a.m. Tuesday (January 25) morning, he said.

AFP quoted airport spokeswoman Elena Galanova as saying that the blast occurred in a freely accessible public area of the airport where passengers meet relatives after passing customs.

The explosion also wounded at least 130 people, including 20 who are in critical condition, according to the Russian health ministry.
