National carrier Vietnam Airlines has warned its ticket agents to stay on high alert against in-flight thefts by blacklisting “suspicious customers,” including two Chinese nationals.
Vietnam Airlines announced that two thefts had been prevented in July alone. To prevent similar crimes, ticket agents should pay attention to customers who bought tickets using "suspicious" information.
It asked the agencies to remain particularly vigilant against two Chinese customers named Rao Xingyu and Wan Caibin.
Although the carrier did not elaborate, it asked ticket vendors to inform them in the event that these two customers attempted to purchase tickets.
Dozens of thefts have been reported on Vietnam Airlines flights this year.
Last year, investigators established that a gang of thieves made up of around 10 Chinese nationals had targeted passengers on Vietnam Airlines flights in Asia and across Vietnam.
