An airplane of low-cost carrier Vietjet Air broke down on a runway soon after landing at Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat airport on Wednesday, leaving its passengers stuck on board for nearly two hours.
The incident happened at around 9:25 p.m. The aircraft, which just came from the central city of Da Nang, had some issue in its braking system, Lao Dong (Labor) newspaper quoted a representative of the airline as saying.
Some passengers said the captain did not allow them to leave the jet, until it was towed to a parking lot.
All passengers were confirmed to be safe, but the runway was closed for about 30 minutes, news website VnExpress reported.
