Two Vietnamese sailors on a South Korean fishing boat sustained serious burn injuries after their vessel burst into flames while docked in Uruguay on Friday, the Vietnam News Agency reported.
The identities of the two fishermen are not known. They are being treated at a local hospital.
The fishing boat with 34 people on board had docked at a port in Montevideo, the capital and the chief port of Uruguay, when the fire broke out.
Four other people were injured in the fire, and the boat irreparablly damaged, the VNA quoted a press release from Montevideo authorities as saying.
The cause of the fire has not been asceratined yet.
According to an AP report, it was at least the 15th suspicious fire involving fishing boats in Montevideo in the last four years.
