The airline has not been allowed to reclaim the shipment that it claimed was sent to Tan Son Nhat Airport by mistake last year

Ho Chi Minh City authorities have issued fine of VND30 million (US$1,345) against Turkish Airlines for transporting 144,000 cartridges to Tan Son Nhat Airport last year.
The blanks have also been seized under the decision announced Monday.
According to Tan Son Nhat customs officers, they found the cartridges in 60 cartons transported on a Turkish Airlines flight from Istanbul to HCMC late April 2014. The aircraft had a layover in Bangkok.
Turkish Airlines later requested Vietnamese customs to return the consignment, saying it had been sent to Vietnam by mistake.
However, Tan Son Nhat said the case was serious and handed it over to the city’s investigators.
Weapons and explosives are strictly monitored in Vietnam. The transport of explosives, including those used in sports, requires permission from relevant agencies.
