A truck suddenly collapsed into a sewer cover on a sidewalk in Ho Chi Minh City, turning over and crushing a local woman on Tuesday afternoon.

Witnesses said they saw the truck, which was loaded with big bags of ice, climbing onto the sidewalk of Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street in front of the Saigon Botanical Garden in District 1, before one of its wheels broke into a sewer cover and flipped over.
Van Hau, the driver of the truck, said that he was in the process of unloading a bag of ice he was delivering to a sidewalk café when the accident occurred.
The incident, occurred at around 1 p.m., killing Dang Thi Hong, a 43-year old street vendor who was taking a break on a nearby tree root.
According to locals, the truck frequently delivers bags of ice to the location location and had tipped over once before.
Police said they are investigation the case.
