Three Vietnamese workers in China died and 17 others were injured after a truck that was carrying them flipped over on a road in Yunnan, near the border with Vietnam, on Monday.
The 17 injured workers were being treated in a local hospital, and the bodies of the deceased, aged between 29 and 55, were returned to the their families in Vietnam on Tuesday, Dan Tri news website quoted Bui Huu Loi, Party chief of Bat Xat District, Lao Cai Province, said.
All workers on the truck were from Bat Xat District, who were hired to work in China's Hekou District, just across the border with Bat Xat.
The families of the dead workers received VND115 each from Chinese authorities. The cause of the accident has not been known.
