A tourist died on Monday from a head injury she sustained at the Dai Nam theme park in Binh Duong Province, according to a release issued by the park managers.
Nguyen Thi Nen, 48 and her husband were riding an overloaded novelty tram in the park when she tumbled off the vehicle, according to Pham Dinh Khuong, deputy general director of the theme park.
Despite the fact that no seats were available, Khuong said that Nen and many others crowded onto the vehicle and stood.
He added that a bump in the road likely caused her to fall off the tram, which had been designed to resemble a locomotive.
Khuong said that, although Nen received first aid and was rushed to the Cho Ray Hospital, she died soon after the accident due to severe brain injuries.
"The park is making funeral arrangements and will assist Nen's family in bringing up her two children until they graduate from university," Khuong said.
