A 34-month-old Vietnamese boy has saved his playmate's life by alerting his grandma after the friend fell into a pond, leading to a successful rescue, news website Dan Tri reported.
The grandmother, Hach Thi Tuyet, said she was cooking at home in Thanh Hoa Province, central Vietnam, when the boy, Nguyen Quoc Khanh rushed in and said, "Grandma, Ba fell into the water!", then grabbed her arm and pulled her to a pond in front of the house.
Trinh Van Ba is Khanh's three-year-old friend.
Khanh kept pointing his finger into the water and said: “Ba in the water! Ba in the water!”
Tuyet said she spotted a baby arm splashing the water two to three times before disappearing in the pond.
She quickly waded into the pond, which is about 1.5 meter deep, and pulled the boy out when he face had turned purple.
Ba was given emergency first aid and recovered five minutes later.
Trinh Van Ton, Ba’s father, said he had brought Ba to Khanh’s house and let the two kids play while he was talking to Khanh’s father.
Ba apparently dropped a toy car into the pond and was trying to get it back when he fell into the pond.
