Three people were killed after a runaway truck crashed into two parked buses in the central province of Ha Tinh, on Monday morning, Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper reported.
Eyewitnesses said the truck loaded with bricks was traveling down National Highway 1A when it suffered multiple blowouts, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
The vehicle crashed into the side of the 49-seat bus and smashed head-on into a 24-seat bus, which were parked facing the opposite direction.
The truck also hit a motorbike before stopping into a field.
Two people on the 24-seat bus Tran Phu Thach, a 55-year-old driver's assistant, and Tran Van Luan, an 82-year-old passenger died on the spot.
Another bus passenger, who has yet to be identified, was confirmed dead after being rushed to the hospital.
Five others were injured, three of them seriously, in the accident. Two bodies were pulled out from the wreck of the 24-seat bus after a crane pulled the wreckage ouf of a field.
The accident caused gridlock on the highway for hours.
