Vietnamese narcotics police said on Thursday that they had arrested three members of a Ho Chi Minh City-based gang that smuggled drugs from Cambodia to Vietnam.
On November 13, police arrested Duong Nguyet Kieu, the 28-year-old ringleader, and his subordinates Le Minh Phuong, 30, and Dung Que Nguyen, 31. They confiscated 50 grams of methamphetamine and 1 kilogram of heroin, police said.
Phuong was caught red-handed selling drugs to customers. Based on his testimony, police arrested Kieu and Minh while they were delivering drugs to drug addicts at Nguyen Van Luong-Hau Giang crossroad in District 6.
The men confessed to police they usually posed as tourists in Cambodia to buy drugs that they later sold to drug dealers in HCMC.
Police are still investigating.
