Police in Tien Giang Province in the Mekong Delta arrested Saturday a 17-year-old boy for allegedly killing his sister to steal her gold ring and necklace.

Tuoi Tre reported that 27-year-old Nguyen Thi Tuyet was found dead outside her coffee shop early Saturday morning, with multiple bruises on her body.

Her brother Nguyen Van Hieu, a factory worker, later admitted to killing her for the gold as he needed money.

Tuyet, Hieu, and another brother had left their home in Tra Vinh Province also in the delta to work in Tien Giang, and all of them lived in the coffee shop.

The police are investigating further.
