A Ho Chi Minh City court has sentanced a college student to life in jail, and another to eight years, for killing another man in a fight over computer games.
Nguyen Quoc Hung received a life sentence Thursday, while Phan Tan Huy Nha got eight years. Both were former students at the Ho Chi Minh City Agriculture and Forestry University.
According to the indictment, Hung killed his friend Truong Phuoc Hai's roomate in December 2009 after the roomate threatened to stab Nha during a drunken argument over computer games at a college party.
Hung stabbed many people in the room at the party, though they did not fight back.
Judges at the HCMC People's Court said that Nha was not directly involved in the fight but had encouraged six people, including Hung, to fight, and had provided them with weapons.
