An off-duty policeman in southern Vietnam was killed by one stab Thursday night after a chaotic argument at a local bar.
Sergeant major Cao Tien Tuan, 24, was stabbed when leaving Bar Nice Group in Dong Nai Province, which neighbors Ho Chi Minh City, Tuoi Tre quoted local police as saying.
According to the police, while Tuan was arguing with several people at the bar about his bill, his 27-year-old colleague Do Ngoc Nam, who went to the bar with him, called for a person named Nghia.
Nghia brought a group of men to the bar while Tuan and Nam were leaving. A quarrel ensued and one of the group stabbed Tuan to his belly.
Local police are investigating the case and looking for the killer.
Also on Thursday, around 20 people caused a riot in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province that also neighbors HCMC. The gang attacked police when they came.
The rioters also robbed a police motorbike before running away.
Two people in the group have been arrested. The case is under investigation.
