A South Korean tourist died in the central city of Da Nang Sunday from multiple bee stings she got a day before while visiting a forest in a tourism area.

Choi Hyeon, 26, died at 9 a.m. at Da Nang Hospital after being rushed there around 7 p.m. Saturday with respiratory failure and cardiac arrest.

Her husband said she had been attacked by a swarm of bees in the forest near the Ba Na Hills resort in Hoa Ninh Commune, Hoa Vang District.

She was rushed to a private clinic in Da Nang with breathing difficulties and was then put on a breathing machine.

When her condition worsened, she was transferred to Da Nang Hospital.

As her family did not request an autopsy, the Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs informed the South Korean consulate to make arrangements to bring her body back home.
