According to police, they have arrested three people, one of whom was 19-year-old Hoang Van Then, niece of the victim, Hoang Van Duong, 35.

Police said on July 18 at around 3 a.m., the gang broke into Duong's house in Loc Ninh District, tied his limbs and covered his mouth with sticking plaster.

After the thieves left, Duong untied himself and chased after them. However, he was attacked with tear gas and beaten, police said.
