Six people died Monday after a truck overturned into a stream in the central province of Quang Ngai, Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper reported.
The truck carrying five men got bogged down on a muddy road in the mountainous Tra Bong District and overturned into a stream at around 6 p.m.
After nearby residents discovered the vehicle, they rushed to pull the men out.
Le Van Thong, the 31-year-old truck driver, and the five men were dead after being pulled out from the flooded cabin half an hour later.
Police said only two men were identified Pham Duc Thanh, 69, and Doan Anh Tuan, 40.
The three others are Kor ethnic minority residents, according to police.
The five men were hired to plant trees on a mountain. The truck, which transported small plants for forestation on Monday morning, was carrying the men home after a day of work.
