Hanoi
police on Thursday arrested six people suspected of attempting to kill three
others and causing a public disorder earlier this week.
Initial investigation showed that Nguyen Bich Thuy, 32, led a group of more than
ten people on a chase after Bach Thanh Phong, 34, and two others at around
half-past midnight on Monday from Tu Liem District to Quoc Oai District. Four
vehicles were involved in the incident.
When
they arrived at Quoc Oai's Ngoc Liep Commune, Thuy's gang pushed Phong's car off
the street. Phong's group were injured but they got out of the car and escaped,
according to police.
Thuy's gang later shot bullets into Phong's car, a black Honda Civic, which was
found on the Lang-Hoa Lac Highway the day after with blood and two shotguns,
three swords and eight knives inside, prompting police to launch an
investigation into the case.
Police said the case may involve conflict between the two groups over loans.
Investigators said around 20 people had been involved in the fight.
So
far Thuy and five of his people together with five cars have been taken into
custody, while others, including Phong and his people, were still at large.
