The Ho Chi Minh City police arrested a Singaporean Tuesday for locking his Vietnamese girlfriend in a hotel room over a dispute.
They said they would charge Eng Yong Kit, 41, with illegally detaining a person against their will.
They received a tip-off that Eng was keeping his 24-year-old girlfriend in a hotel room in District 3 and went there.
But when he refused to cooperate or release her, they broke into the room and also arrested him.
