The bodies of a teenage girl and her younger brother who drowned while swimming in a lake in the central province of Quang Binh were recovered Saturday, online newspaper Dan Tri reported.
The accident happened at around 5:30 p.m. on Friday when Le Thi Ha Trang, 15, and her brother Le Tai Du, 11, went swimming in Khe Che Lake near their house in Bo Trach District's Ly Trach Commune.
They reportedly then drowned in a deep section of the lake.
When they did not come home, their family went out searching for them.
With the help of local residents, the family found the two dead bodies at around 7 a.m. the following morning.
Quang Binh Province authorities said at least five children had drowned while swimming in rivers, lakes and streams in the province over the last two months.
