Shipwrecked Chinese sailors safe in Vung Tau

The crew of a shiprwrecked Chinese boat were transferred to Vietnam's border guards and foreign affairs officials in the southern coastal province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau on Thursday.

 

The 25 sailors and their Captain Lin Jian Quing, 53, were rescued by the Nyk Aquarius (a Panamanian vessel) on Tuesday off the central coast of Da Nang.

 

Their boat was sinking in rough waters, officials said.

  

All the sailors are in stable conditions and will be sent home soon, said Tran Cong Hieu, a provincial border guard official.
