A ship sank off south central Vietnam Sunday with 1,700 tons of coal aboard, but all of its crew members were rescued.

The vessel, from the northern province of Quang Ninh, had 11 crew and was carrying the coal to Quy Nhon, the capital of Binh Dinh Province, and sank 30 nautical miles off the city.

Forces from a rescue center in neighboring Da Nang city said the boat had suffered leaks and took more than an hour to sink.

The crew were returned to Ho Chi Minh City.
