A traveling circus show in the northern province of Hai Duong on Wednesday night turned into a disaster after the temporary seating stand collapsed, sending 20 members of the audience to hospital.
The stand was built on a muddy wasteland in the province. Parts of it collapsed just minutes after the show began.
Many got stuck under iron bars and broken chairs, shouting for help, a witness said.
According to local media, 20 people, mostly children, were hospitalized.
Some of them had their legs broken in the incident.
Authorities said that heavy rain during the past few days, which prompted the circus show to have moved to last night, had weakened the ground and caused the collapse.
Local media said the show continued soon after the incident.
